Nawger Nob Arts and Crafts Fair in September

The two day Nawger Nob Arts & Crafts Fair is Saturday and Sunday September 27 and 28, 2014 in Townsend, TN this year.  The craft fair takes place at Nawger Knob Shopping Area with the tents under the shade of the trees. Many craft tents and booths with so many different crafts you are sure to find something you like. This craft fair is very popular. Food and drinks also available. So many different types of crafts on sale like candles, clothes, , quilts, dolls, woodcrafts, unique gifts and more.

Townsend Fall Heritage Festival and Old Timers Day

Townsend, TN is known as The Peaceful Side of the Smokies and is the gateway to Cades Cove. Every fall in September Townsend put on the Townsend Fall Heritage Festival and Old Timers Day . This year the two day festival takes place on Friday Sept. 26 and Saturday Sept. 27, 2014. The festival has a bluegrass stage with bluegrass bands all day and into the night. Great Smoky Mountain National Park to Build a Collections Preservation Center in Townsend

Townsend, TN just south of Pigeon Forge is getting a Collections Preservation Center.Townsend is the gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The $4.3 million center will be built at the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center. Construction will begin this year and open in 2015. The Park Archives Center will be a 13,000 sq foot building and will be used to house documents and artifacts from the region that relate to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Townsend Fall Heritage Festival End of September

Townsend in the Smokies Fall Heritage Festival and Old Timer’s Day is next week Sept. 27 and 28, 2013. The festival  has bluegrass music, clogging and square dancing, arts and crafts booths, demonstrations , an antique tractor display and lots of good food. Other events are also held in  the community including the Blue Ribbon Country Fair at the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center and Railroad Days at Little River Railroad & Lumber Co. Museum.
