Lost Hikers Found – Family of Six in Great Smoky Mountains

Lost hikers found this past weekend in the Great Smoky Mountains. The Ferrell family set out for a day hike to Mt LeConte on Saturday but had to make a cell phone call Sunday morning at 2:12am when the family became lost. The parents and their 4 children, aged 4-12, are from Louisiana and became lost  while hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains this past weekend.  After receiving the call for help Park Rangers searched both Bull Head Trail and Rainbow Falls Trail. Hiker Rescued in Great Smoky Mountains National Park After Falling

A hiker rescued from a popular trail in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is recovering. The man was hiking on Mt. LeConte (near Gatlinburg, TN) and suffered a fall and a back injury while hiking on Alum Cave Trail on Sunday. Park Rangers reached the man about 2 hours after his fall, but due to severe storms Sunday night they were unable to remove him from the site.
