The Maggie Valley Oktoberfest 2014 is on October 3rd and 4th this year at the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds in Maggie Valley, North Carolina. This is Maggie Valley’s 1st Oktoberfest “keeping with the most important German traditions-lots of Bier, a large variety of Great Food, including some customary German flavors such as Bratwursts, Bavarian Soft Pretzels & regional favorites like BBQ & Craft Beer. Live Music, Vendors, Children’s Stage & Kid’s Area, Contests, Games, Dancing, & More.” This festival is for the whole family with a weekend of entertainment for all. Cataloochee received 4” of snow and is open with a base of 32- 50″. The Cataloochee Ski Area website reports “On Thursday, we will be skiing from the top of the quad down on nine out of seventeen slopes with three aerial lifts and one conveyor lift operating on a base of 32-50” and a machine groomed surface.
