Fall Foliage 2014 Show Has Begun!

Fall foliage 2014 color changes have been noticed by experts already this year in the mountains in the highest elevations. Colors of red have already been noted in some red maples and sugar maple trees at the highest elevations in the mountains. This may be due to the cooler and sunny weather of the past month of August. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park Quarter Now Available

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park quarter is now available. The quarter is the 21st coin of the America the Beautiful Quarters® Program. The program is a 12-year initiative to honor 56 national parks and other national sites in the United States. Each year in the 12 year prpgram five new quarters with national sites depicted on the quarter.The United States Mint is issuing these quarters in the same order in which the honored national park or national site was first established.
