Leaf Peepers Flocking to Great Smoky Mountains

All the rain in the Great Smoky Mountains and leaf peepers are still traveling to the Great Smokies to see the fall foliage. There are reports of heavy traffic in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg with all the people trying to get a look at the changing leaves in the mountains. October is the second busiest month for the area. October is a good month for area businesses, especially  hotels, rental cabins, shops and restaurants. Last year when the Great Smoky Mountains National Park was closed for half of the month of October it was a huge blow to the area. This year business is booming again for the fall season. Peak fall foliage in the highest elevations is now.
