Great Smoky Mountains National Park 2012 Visitors Spend Money & Support Area Jobs

A recent report shows in 2012 more than 9.6 million visitors to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park spent $741 million in neighboring towns and cities
close to the park. The analysis was done by the U.S. Geological Survey economists and the National Park Service. The money spent supported almost
11,000 area jobs primarily in restaurants, grocery and convenience stores, lodging, and recreation and amusement.
