A Dollywood Christmas Celebration

It’s another  Dollywood Christmas season! Dollywood Theme Park is always fun but at Christmas the theme park turns into a Smoky Mountain Christmas celebration for the young and  old to enjoy. A Smoky Mountain Christmas starts November 7, 2015 and runs through January 3, 2016. After the National Southern Gospel and Harvest Celebration Dollywood closes for a week while the theme park is decorated with thousands of lights, hundreds of Christmas Trees and Christmas decorations. The theme park is turned into a magical festive Christmas theme park. Located in Pigeon Forge near the Great Smoky Mountains this time of year the weather is perfect for Christmas. Cold temperatures and a chilly breeze makes for a good time at Dollywood with some hot chocolate or hot wassel to warm your insides.

Dollywood’s A Smoky Mountain Christmas

Special programs are performed for A Smoky Mountain Christmas at Dollywood. Dollywood’s A Christmas Carol, Christmas In The Smokies, Christmas With The Kingdom Heirs, O Holy Night, ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas, Dolly’s Christmas Chapel, Parade of Lights, Santa’s Workshop, and Timber Canyon Festival Of Lights are just a few of the many festival programs and attractions held during the Christmas festival this time of year.

And don’t forget all the great food. Dine at Aunt Granny’s All-You-Care-To-Eat Buffet with turkey, dressing and all the trimmings. Get a funnel cake with toppings at Crossroads Funnel Cakes.  Stop by Spotlight Bakery for delicious pastries, donuts, brownies, pies, cakes, cinnamon buns and more sweet deserts. Many vendors sell hot chocolate, hot wassail and coffee to warm you up while you walk around Dollywood and enjoy seeing all the lights and decorations.

Dollywood’s A Christmas Carol is a 45 minute musical of the Charles Dickens classic.   Ebenezer Scrooge gets a visit by three ghost on Christmas Eve. The  Ghost of Christmas past is a holographic “Dolly” that visits Scrooge is this Dollywood adaptation.

Christmas In The Smokies is a 50 minute show at Showstreet Palace. A  12-member cast sing and dance to some holiday favorites like Frosty the Snowman with Frosty himself, Let It Snow Let It Snow, Let It Snow while it starts to snow and many more.

Christmas In The Smokies Musical at Dollywood

Parade of Lights is Dollywood’s own Christmas  Parade with  colorful lighted floats, holiday characters and of course Santa Clause!

Christmas With The Kingdom Heirs sign our  favorite Christmas hymns and songs plus some Southern Gospel Music they are famous for.

‘Twas The Night Before Christmas is a charming story of a family that gets a Christmas miracle with the help of a “mysterious, white-bearded stranger”. It has a 12-member cast and a four-piece band and is sure to get you in the spirit of Christmas.

Dollywood is located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee just minutes from Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. A Smoky Mountain Christmas at Dollywood is an annual tradition for many.
